Warp Speed Skills
by Admiral Palleon

Hey everyone!  Admiral Palleon here with another Warp Speed strategy article, this time, on selecting the right personnel for your Warp Speed deck!  First off, I’ve
compiled a list of all the SKILLS needed to pass every dilemma available in Warp Speed play!  And here it is!

Anthropology x2
SECURITY x3
Leadership x2
Navigation x2
Physics
ENGINEER x4
OFFICER x2
Astrophysics x2
SCIENCE x2
Law
Diplomacy x3
Exobiology x3
Stellar Cartography
MEDICAL x2
Honor x3
Computer Skill x2

Again these are all the SKILLS you need to pass any dilemma in Warp Speed, this list does not include requirements for dilemmas such as Matriarchal Society and
Impressive Trophies.

The main objective in Warp Speed, is to get out the right personnel as fast as possible, and that means keeping your deck small, so the basic idea is to find the
lowest number of peeps that can still satisfy these requirements.

 Example of Good Personnel Selection:

   1.B’Elanna Torres
   2.Chakotay
   3.Tuvok
   4.Dr. Telek R’Mor
   5.Danara Pel
   6.The Doctor
   7.Tom Paris
   8.Tuvok
   9.Seven of Nine
  10.Karr
  11.Kathryn Janeway
  12.Maxwell Burke

Those personnel there satisfy all the requirements in just 12 spots, not bad (probably not the best, but not bad), and also have a very high likely hood of passing attribute related dilemmas as well as others like Matriarchal Society.   Now, it might be good to add a few more people who will fill in some of the skills that are barely scraping by, just in case some people get shot or blown up.

Here’s an example of a bad choice of people:

   1.Kathryn Janeway
   2.Seven of Nine
   3.Chakotay
   4.B’elanna Torres
   5.Tom Paris
   6.The Doctor
   7.Samantha Wildman
   8.Tuvok
   9.Harry Kim
  10.Vorik
  11.Lon Suder
  12.Danara Pel
  13.Sulan
  14.Motura
  15.Dereth
  16.Karr
  17.Donik
  18.Jorik
  19.Decaren
  20.Idren
  21.Iden
  22.Weiss
  23.Kejal
  24.Dr. Telek R’Mor
  25.Karon
  26.Karden
  27.Culluh
  28.Surat
  29.Seska
  30.Reginald Barclay
  31.Nevala
  32.Rekar
  33.Rudolph Ranson
  34.Maxwell Burke

I could go on and on, but I think you get my point.  These people would satisfy all the skills you need, however, it would become harder and harder to get them out
quickly, because you could end up with: Rudolph, Kathy, Chuckles, Decaren, Karr, a ship and a piece of equipment first turn, and then you would be sitting there
with a bunch of Diplomacy and Officers, but no Engineers, or Medical.

A good (starting) Warp Speed deck should have around 17-19 personnel, and then support cards (equipment, ships, interrupts, etc.).  Some decks use more, and some less, quite effectively sometimes, quite ineffectively sometimes, however, 17-19 Peeps usually does the trick very well.  I hope this helps, and enjoy the Warp Speed format skills list up there!

May the force be with you!
