Basic Ferengi Deck
by Rom

Ferengi certainly have lots of free HQ personnel, but there's not a lot of dilemma-beating skills among them. This is a deck designed around those free personnel with Officers (using Kits) to back them up. It comes out pretty quick and has good battle capability, which is important these days. I call it a "basic" deck because there's really nothing special about it. It's just a straightforward mission solver.

Personnel:
Free at the HQ:

  • Birta
  • Brunt
  • Gaila
  • Gral
  • Grand Nagus Gint
  • Grand Nagus Zek
  • Ishka x2 (a good personnel to shuffle with the 6th Rule, and speeds up your deck by allowing Latinum to play for free.)
  • Leck
  • Leeta
  • Maihar'du
  • Nilva
  • Pel
  • Quark

As you can see, I've used all the free Security personnel, since you can't get that skill with equipment.

Officers:
  • Berik
  • Letek
  • Lurin x2
  • Omag
  • Solok
  • Sovak
Two Mission Specialists:
  • Dr. Borts
  • Qol
And three others for additional skills:
  • Madam Guinan
  • Nick Locarno
  • Thomas Paris
Ships:
  • Krayton
  • Kreechta
  • D'Kora Transport
  • B'rel
Equipment:
  • Gold Pressed Latinum x6
  • Ferengi Disruptor Rifle x3
  • Medkit x2 (in case one goes on a Hippocratic Oath trip)
  • Science Kit
  • Engineering Kit
  • Plasmadyne Relay
  • Scepter of the Grand Nagus
  • Rules of Acquisition
Rules:
  • 6th Rule x4
  • 33rd Rule x3
  • 34th Rule
Other stuff:
  • Distortion of Space/Time Continuum x4
  • Kevin Uxbridge x2
  • Palor Toff x2
  • HQ: War Room x2
Q's Tent: (a lot of personnel can download other cards; I simply put all those in the Tent)
  • Bribery
  • Calandra
  • Forced Labor Camp
  • Hail
  • HQ: Ferengi Credit Exchange
  • Kukalaka
  • Protection Racket
  • Security Sacrifice
  • Small Cloaking Device
  • Writ of Accountability
  • Hidden Fighter
  • Quark's Treasure
  • Establish Landing Protocols
Missions:
  • Deliver Message
  • Gunrunning
  • Kressari Rendezvous
  • Runabout Search
  • Uncover DNA Clues
  • Sarthong Plunder (attempt with either Bribery or Forced Labor Camp, which is one of the reasons for 2 Lurins, besides the fact that he has useful skills)
Other seeds:
  • Space/Time Portal
  • Battle Bridge (a number of Ferengi Energy Weapons are good, but otherwise you can use whatever you want)
  • Ferengi Trading Post (for a second place to trade Latinum)
  • D'Kora Marauder (at the trading post)
  • Assign Mission Specialists
  • Tower of Commerce
  • Secure Homeworld
  • Defensive Measures x2 (protects your missions from theft, and can get an extra Leadership for your mission requirements)
  • 1st Rule of Acquisition
  • Quark's Isolinear Rods
  • Writ of Accountability
  • Horga'hn (just because :-)
Dilemmas:
  • 2 Conundrum (to help the 34th Rule)
  • Other than that, you can use whatever you like

Strategy:

Get Gint with the 1st Rule. Download the Rules equipment and exchange a rule from hand for the 34th. Go looking for a fight to draw some cards. You should have the advantage in firepower from your seeded ship. If the opponent is playing a fast attack deck, use that seeded ship for defense and let them come to you. Once you get a number of personnel in play, missions should be fairly easy.
