Old Style Deck

Seed Deck:
Doorways:
Space-Time Portal
Q's Tent
Missions:
Distress Mission
Sensitive Search
Explore Black Cluster
Reported Activity
Samaritan Snare
Explore Typhon Expanse
Don't attempt Samaritan Snare. It's there just to seed a Husnock Outpost.
The other two space missions require merely lots of cunning, which
is easy.
Distress Mission is Youth x3, easy for this deck. Ditto Sensitive Search,
only needs Computer Skill and cunning. Reported Activity is slightly
difficult, but Governor Worf or Kurn + K'chiQ or Kurn + K'nera can
solve
it. Or Konmel and two STAs can solve it.

Self-seeded Balancing Act and Horga'hn
Pretend you're seeding like Q-Bypass so they don't block your Hor'gahn
with
a Dead End.

Mostly counter cards, use the Ready Room Door to boost all your STAs
attributes and cunning. Nick Locarno is almost a STA himself.

Husnock Outpost
Husnock Ship
Spacedoor
Assign Mission Specialists(Konmel and K'Tal)
Draw Deck(40):
Doorways:
Alternate Universe Door x3
Q's Tent x5

Scan x2
Personnel:
K'chiQ x4
Kurn
K'nera
Governor Worf
Kitrik
Suna
Kareen Brianon
Roga Danar
Soong-Type Android x10
That's basically it. Fajo Collection was illegal, so no Dr. Soong
reprogramming. It did okay, actually, considering that it isn't cheese.
Here's the report:
Round 1:me vs. Mr. Scott (AKA Kevin Markman):
Okay, me and Kevin have played before. First turn for him, discard
AMS,
play it again. Woohoo! AMS Q-Bypass! I started tossing out the Soongs
and
other personnel. I got an amazingly good draw(Kitrik and K'chiQ in
the
starting hand). He tried to bypass Test Propulsion Systems, but I flipped
Hide And Seek. Unfortunately, I tossed Dead End down there. He solved
Hunt
For DNA Program by Q-Bypassing, getting rid of my Edo Probe/Higher
The
Fewer/Dead End combination. Instead of Palor Toff-ing and replaying
the
Hide And Seek, I let it pass and solve Distress Mission, earning my
Horga'hn. Unfortunately, he then moves over, and solves Test Propulsion
Systems. Counting all the AMS bonuses, he wins the game. 0(-65)
// Editor's note: H&S can't be played from hand anyway, only seeded
or played from the flash
Round 2:me vs. Altoid(AKA Tobin ???):
Okay. He seeds 12 space. Inserted between all my missions. I'm choking
now,
because my Husnock Ship has obscenely low range. Okay, I build up my
mega-crew, since he hasn't seeded an Outpost(only a Q-Flash), so I'm
expecting a Devidian Door at any time. The moment I undock my ship
to begin
the long slow trek to Distress Mission, Crosis and Rogue Borg Mercenaries.
Whammo. 26 strength on each slaughters my entire crew. It's just about
time
to have a good cry. So I Spacedoor the Darmok and begin to repeat process.
Undock. Whammo again. We both draw out and that's the game. Complete
cheese, and I was unprepared for it. Dangit, I should have packed Jaglom
Shrek in my Tent! Argh! 1(-65)
Round 3:me vs. ???(AKA ???):
This guy was called up by Scott so we could get sanctioned, and was
made up
of a modified Federation Tribbles starter deck. He starts to get out
people. I'm outspeeding him easily, he gets on a Runabout, attempts
the
mission where his outpost is, and the Lack of Preparation stops him.
Then
he attempts again. Borg Ship. That nukes a lot of people. I scan a
few
missions, and solve them easily for the win.
Now here's the *really* cool part. 3 Q-Continuum packs. First
rare: System-Wide Cascade Failure. Okay, if that isn't funny enough,
I don't
know what is. Next pack: Juliana Tainer. Now this is getting freaking
hilarious. Next one: Ira Graves. I pulled a android triple pack! Pulled
Grilka, Tahna Los, and the Brittain *gag* in the other packs. Not much.
My
deck did well. If I had a Jaglom and Hugh in the Tent, I could have
won
against Tobin. Oh well. For those of you going to play in Warp Speed
Constructed Decks: an important memo for you if you don't want to be
beaten
into a bloody pulp:
Seed Mission Debriefing.
Go from there. First turn, reporting Ira Graves or K'chiQ or something
like
that. Toss out the androids like mad. Add in possible Mirror
Mirror cards and Defend Homeworld/Homefront/Assign Mission Specialists/Assign
Support Personnel downloads, you've got a one turn win if they don't have
Mission Debriefing seeded.
