Hirogen Deck
As played by Mark "Nermal" Bloom Here's the Hirogen deck I've been working on over the last couple of weeks. After a few friendly games to test various cards, I'm pretty confident that it's a solid deck. First the deck, then a bit of discussion on why :) SEED DECK (30 + 6) MISSIONS
DOORWAYS
DILEMMAS
FACILITIES
OTHERS
Q'S TENT (13)
Q-FLASH (5)
DRAW DECK (38) PERSONEL & SHIPS
EQUIPMENT
REFEREE ICON CARDS
CAPTRUE RELATED CARDS
OTHER CARDS
The goal of the deck is to be a quick Hirogen deck. Of the 38 cards, 9 just "aren't there" in that they can be cycled with either Prepare The Prisoner or Q the Referee. And while they're at it, could get a ship or Rituals of the Hunt from Hirogen Hunt. This made getting a ship on the first turn incredibly easy, and with even less of a drawback than Spacedoor :). Or for more fun: put Rituals of the Hunt under your draw deck to download a Rituals of the Hunt :) Anyway, on the first turn, ASP for Jetarn, QIR for Bariel (to hand), DH for Gann (or Turranj if Gann is in your hand), and Special Download Hirogen Hunt. Then play 2 cards (one free w/ the hunt), and then put either a capture or referee card on the bottom of your deck and download a ship. After that, grab Dr Telek R'Mor (discarding the TMW to play him to the ship), and you're off and running. Card choices... Q-Flash: no one's been using it for a while, so I thought
I'd whip it out. Also Hide And Seek is very good right about now with everyone
playing loads of Uniques :)... Fajo's Gallery: to be honest, I just plum
forgot about it, and I was playing
Of course you will want to change the referee cards around to fit your meta-game. In fact, I'll change mine to better fit my own metagame :) Thanks for reading :) Comments? Post on the New WNOHGB BBS! |
