Wacky Combos
by Michael Gravely

The Joys of Wacky Combos

Okay, here is by far the wackiest combo I’ve thought of yet for this game.  It requires a whole heap of cards, but enjoy!

SEED PHASE

Include a Q-Flash side deck with the following cards in it: Fightin’ Words and The Naked Truth.  You can include others if you like, but make sure the sidedeck is small enough to get both of these Q-cards in use within one normal-sized flash.

Seed as many combos with these in as possible in this order:
Q-Flash
Bendii Syndrome
Thought Fire OR Firestorm

PLAY PHASE

First, make sure you have a non-aligned Vulcan in your hand.  Stay away from Tallera or Solkar as their restrictions could screw up the combo.  Stick with Sevek, T’Shonra, and Sakonna.

Second, get a copy of Traveler: Transcendence into play affecting your opponent.  Either play one so it affects him or use a Mirror Image when you can tell that the opponent is getting ready to attempt missions.

The goal is that when your opponent attempts a mission, he will encounter the Q-Flash and lose the first two skills of most of his or her people as well as having a lovely Vulcan join the away team.  Next, the Bendii Syndrome will kick in and all of a sudden all of the people there will lose 2 Integrity, just in time to have more people be susceptible to Thought Fire.

This combo benefits from being unexpected (when used on my opponent, he sure wasn’t expecting Bendii Syndrome to rear it’s ugly head) and a heck of a lot of fun.  NOBODY expects to have to worry about T’Shonra essentially killing the entire crew.

For variations on the theme, you can cut Thought Fire and the Traveler: Transcendence if you don’t want to be so wildly generous to your opponent.  Firestorm is always a classic for low-integrity masses, Conundrum has a better chance of sticking (as well as Alien Parasites), etc.

The reason for this combo was to haul out some cards that I thought I would never use (Bendii Syndrome and The Naked Truth).  It’s a lot of fun, and easier to pull off than you might think.

And I sincerely doubt that Sakkath will show up to spoil the fun…

// Editor's note: unfortunately, since the reported personnel would be stopped, this won't work...but it sure sounds like fun!
