Mirror Mirror Scenario Tournament Report
by Spock

The time: Noon, February 4th, 2001
The place: Collectormania, Parker, Colorado
The occasion: Colorado's first Mirror Universe Tournament

I am using a Terran Empire deck published in this month's WNOHGB.  Traded for FOS before the tournament, but never really used him.

Game 1: vs Stephen Rooke
He starts, plays a few people, and ends his turn.  I started, took my usual first turn (download a ship, etc) and did one of the dumbest things imaginable.  I played FOS free to the HQ, used him to download an OS Type II Phaser, and initiated battle.  3 minutes later, most of my opponent's deck was at that location.  Needless to say, I lost that fight.
I went ahead and got built up, while he played his non-security, non-leader personnel.  My It’s Only A Game limited his STP Drop, slowing him down a little.  He decided to attempt a mission in the MQ and lost everyone to the Sheliak.  I attempted Historical Research and solved for 50, but time was called before I could solve another mission or two for the win.  Stephen did have a very interesting deck mechanic I won't list here because he probably wants to use it again next time.
1 (+50)

Game 2: vs Matt Blackwell
He's got a KCA deck We both spend some time building up, and he solves a mission with the help of Make It So for unstopping.  I get my people to the alpha quad and start going through dilemmas…I'm about to pass the last dilemma and solve the mission for 40 when time is called.
0 (-30)  1 (+20)

Game 3: vs Jon Kulik
He had both KCA and TE outposts and was basically play - draw.  I put down my people and solved a few missions for the win.
2 (+100)  3 (+120)

Game 4: vs Mark Ponting
TE vs TE again..  Again, both players spent most of the game building up.  A bad ruling kept me from shutting him down, so I went and solved a mission.  He was about to solve one for 30 and I was about to solve one for 35 or 40 when time was called.
1 (+40)  4 (+160)

Only one loss, but only got 4th or so due to the timed games.  Maybe next time I'll build a deck that starts attempting on turn one..
