Standard Constructed Tournament Report
by Spock

Yup, it's another Colorado tournament report!  11 players showed up, so I played….another arrived late.  I used the TE deck in this issue (although it was a standard constructed tournament) with a few changes, as listed after the report.

Round 1: vs Rob Lundquist
Finally, someone slower than me! ;-)  He's trying out the Borg and isn't real sure what they can do, so he takes a while each turn thinking.  Borg do take some getting used to.  I solve a mission and he scores an EG.  I do another mission but can't stop for Sarjenka due to the fact that time is about to run out, so I score that and run to another but run out of time to finish at 95. :-p
Score: 95-25.  Total: 1 (+70)

Round 2: vs Atticus Bergman
He's also playing a TE deck, and starts throwing personnel at missions right away.  He gets stopped by a few walls, but manages to solve one mission.  He loses 3 to Higher…the Fewer, putting him at 32.  I lose 10 from Edo Probe and I solve 2 missions for 100 points and the win.
Score: 110-32.  Total: 3 (+138)

Round 3: vs Tracy Gimer
Black Hole comes out pretty soon, so I start attempting missions sooner than I might have otherwise.  Have to go through a couple Q-flashes, but Oof! takes care of the Fightin Words that would otherwise give me trouble and I win before BH can suck in any of my missions.  He scores 5 from a Lemon-Aid.
Score: 100+ - 5.  Total: 5 (+233)

Round 4: vs Ted Witt
Pretty obvious in the seed phrase what he's doing, but I can't stop him.  He has Hunt for DNA, the plague ship mission, a space mission, and 6 vSpace.  I seed nothing but Dead End under Hunt for DNA, Executive Authorization under the other planet mission, and lots of stuff under the space mission.  He seeds lots of stuff under Hunt for DNA and Boratus takes out my Dead End.  Between dilemmas and AMS, he scores 85 for the mission, but can't solve the other, so he puts down a Colony.  I can't get over to oppose him, so I attempt missions in the MQ but hit Dead End at one and don't have Leeta to attempt the other.
Score: 0-100  Total: 5 (+133)

Round 5: vs Isaiah Nordhagen
He had a Rommie HOTE similar to the one I was using until last tournament.  I got Crossover out, then Masaka'd to get a FOS, played him to K-7, downloaded a classic medical tricorder and stopped the Tribble Bomb.  He attempts a mission and hits Higher the Fewer / Dead End. Got my people to the AQ, loaded everyone on the FE, and solved 3 missions (lost about 20 points to a Higher the Fewer) for the win.
Score: 100+ - -3   Total: 7 (+233)

First place was Ted with a perfect 10 (+500), followed by Matt Garrett with 8 (+300), and me in 3rd.  Oddly enough, neither of them wanted the Gowron of Borg foil, so it ended up going to Atticus in 4th.

The next tournament will be a MM scenario on March 3rd
