Mirror Mirror Scenario Tournament Report
by Spock

Yet another MM tournament…interest seems to be dying down for these things, so I think I'm going to change the ones I was going to run to standard constructed.  We had to wait 40 minutes to get enough players, so we ended up playing only 3 games.  Was gonna build a KCA/Gamma deck but I couldn't find my Bajholes, so I made a few adjustments to my TE deck and used that again.

Game 1: vs Roger Gardner
We both have TE decks, but built differently, with Roger making heavy use of Crossover.  I get off to a slow start and Roger is able to score several missions, but loses 12 or 14 points to a HtF.  He's kevining my Masakas, so that slows me down more; unfortunately I didn't think to download an Oof! to cost him points for it, but I wouldn't want to run out of Q the Refs anyway.  I finally get the cards I need and solve some missions to win by around 25.

Game 2: vs Matt Garrett
He keeps giving me trouble lately…I knew his deck would be able to solve his main missions before I could, since my people report in the MQ and his in the AQ, so I Sheliak'd one of them and stuck a HtF/Dead End under the other.  He Senior Staff Meeting'd the HtF but couldn't pass the Dead End.  He did steal my Gateway for 45, though.  I solved one mission but lost the requirements for another and stupidly didn't realize that I could have used Defend Homeworld to download Mr Sisko; was thinking for some reason that I had to get Professor Sisko.  Anyway, he went to my mission and tripped a Cytherians in his FE, moved full range, then distortioned.  We were about out of time anyway so I didn't bother to download a Temporal Vortex, and he moved to the end of the spaceline, scored the 15, then ignored the Dead End and solved (I think it was Pegasus Search?)  for the win.

Game 3: vs Mike Romeo
He had a pretty good VCM deck, but my It's Only a Game threw him off a bit, and he didn't start attempting missions until too late.  I solved both of my MQ missions and my AQ Badlands mission for the win.  100-0

We were running late, so we just played those 3 games.  Unfortunately my error in game two cost me the win; all 3 of the top players had 4 match points, but I came in 3rd on differential.  However, I was shocked and amazed to actually win the random selection and get a Bajoran Wormhole foil :-)  I'd like to build a deck with two of these, but I'll probably end up selling it off to buy Voyager.

For anyone interested: currently Kate is first and I'm second in the overall league; we have 12 match points each and she's ahead by about 100 differential, with two tournaments to go.  I believe everyone else has 8 match points or less.
