STS Battle Zone: K’Vort Klassic
by Kaptain Cirk Welcome to the STS Battle Zone! Tonight’s fight is a modified weight class competition. The K’Vort Klassic is only open to K’Vort class vessels. A Captain's Log will be in play and every ship will have its matching commander aboard. Since the ships are evenly matched-up, each ship will have these additional enhancements: a Bynars Weapon Enhancement and a Plasmadyne Relay. Range isn’t a factor at the Battle Zone, so the Range enhancement from the relay isn’t counted. Any ship that loses an enhancer during a battle will have it automatically restored at the start of the next fight. Now introducing the ships and their matching commanders: 1—IKC Ning’tao, commanded by Kor
*Regent Worf is a BIG fan of the Battle Zone, so he encouraged Korvek to be a better commander of his vessel. In the Eastern Conference we have the 1st seeded IKC Ning’tao vs 8th seeded IKC Rotarran. Then the 3rd seeded IKC Pagh vs 6th seeded Naprem. The Western Conference features the 2nd seeded IKC Koraga vs 7th seeded Alliance K’Vort. Then the 4th seeded IKC Hegh’ta vs 5th seeded IKC Lukara. Our first Eastern quarter final contest featured the IKC Ning’tao going up against the IKC Rotarran. Kor is a crafty veteran of combat and he certainly showed that here tonight. However one should never underestimate a proven general and a superior starship. The Ning’tao immediately targeted the Rotarran's Weapons but that 1 extra point of shielding gave the Rotarran the edge it needed to avoid damage. The Ning’tao could have used that shield help because it took some damage from the return fire. Kor came back with the guns blazing, firing a Quantum Torpedo, but even that attack wasn’t enough to penetrate the Rotarran’s shields. Once again Martok poured it on and delivered another crushing blow. In a final desperate attempt, Kor used the Picard Maneuver to avoid damage, but it was too late. The Ning’tao was too badly damaged to mount any kind of offense. Martok sent the Dahar Master to Stovo’Kor. Winner=IKC Rotarran. Then next Eastern quarter final featured the IKC Pagh against the Naprem. If anyone could sneak himself into a Klingon challenge it would be Dukat. He’s out taking the Naprem for a spin and looking for trouble. Unfortunately for Captain Kargan he met the nasty viper in a very bad mood. The Naprem's first shot knocked out the Pagh's Bynars Weapon Enhancement, and it was all downhill from there. Kargan was outclassed by the slippery Dukat as the Pagh was destroyed a few rounds later. Winner=Naprem [Eastern semi-final- 8th sd IKC Rotarran vs 6th sd Naprem.] The first Western conference quarter final battle featured the IKC Koraga against an Alliance K’Vort. The elder son of Mogh targeted the mirror ships’ shields and hit! Unfortunately for Worf, the Alliance vessel was also targeting shield generators and Korvek scored a hit as well. That hurt the Koraga as her shields were already weak, and the universal K’Vort didn’t let up at all, scoring a direct hit that buckled the Koraga. It was all over for Worf as he died an Honorable death. If you get very quiet you can still hear the Klingons’ Yell. Winner=Alliance K’Vort. The next Western quarter final bout featured the IKC Hegh’ta going up against the IKC Lukara. The fans got their latinum worth with this fight as Kurn and Kang went head-to-head! Each ship hit every round as damage markers went flying. The Lukara took major damage from a disruptor blast but fought back and scored a hit of its own. The Hegh’ta was losing shields fast but with plenty of power still flowing to its weapons systems, she managed to destroy the Lukara. A few Photon Torpedos meant the end to Kang, as the younger son Kurn emerged victorious. Winner=IKC Hegh’ta. [Western semi-final- 7th sd Alliance K’Vort vs 4th sd IKC Hegh’ta.] Eastern Semi-Final. Martok and the Rotarran proved too much for
Kor, as the Ning’tao fought a brilliant battle but was defeated by the
one eyed General. And Dukat representing the Cardassin Union made
short order of Kargan and the Pagh. Not even Riker could have saved
the Klingon K’Vort as Dukat hit again and again until delivering the death
blow. So it’s Martok against Dukat with the winner advancing to the
final round!
Western Semi-Final. The Mirror universe is perhaps more brutal
than our own and Worf Son of Mogh found that out the hard way. Korvek
laid waste to the valiant warrior and destroyed the Koraga to earn himself
a shot at the finals. However Worf’s brother Kurn stands in the way
and he isn’t pleased about his brothers’ death. Kurn almost picked
a fight with the mirror commander at the pre-fight press conference, but
decided to let his disruptors do the talking for him. It’s Kurn against
Korvek to determine who goes to the final.
Championship 8th sd IKC Rotarran vs 4th sd IKC Hegh’ta It’s Martok against Kurn in the K’Vort Klassic! Thankfully for
Martok, Q was in attendance and we all know how much Q loves a good fight,
so he restored the general to keep his chances alive. Now he’s focusing
his one eye across the arena at his new enemy. Kurn stands tall as
he knows what difficulties lie ahead, he won’t back down! The Hegh’ta
has faced greater odds and Kurn wants to win this one for his slain brother.
Who will win the K’Vort Klassic? Martok and the IKC Rotarran or Kurn
in the IKC Hegh’ta?
Championship Results. In a less than stellar performance, the
IKC Hegh’ta was annihiliated by the Rotarran. Kurn’s tactics proved
inadequate, as he could never penetrate the mighty shields of the veterans’
vessel. Every round Martok scored a hit, which cause the Weapons
and Shields to fall quickly. He was never touched as he blew Kurn
into dust a mere three rounds later. Cries of outrage echoed through
the stands believing Kurn threw the fight! Security quickly moved
in and contained the crowd, but the foul aftermath that remained, left
Martok and the IKC Rotarran to claim the tainted Golden Phaser Array Power
Cell.
