Team Tournament Report
by William Springer

Ahh..my first team tournament! :-)  My team consists of myself, Michael (The Ninja Scot) and Nathaniel (Ens Red Shirt)  Needing a team name, we picked "Team We Don't Care".  However, we hadn't filled in the PADDs the way Scott wanted, so he threw them out and made us do it over with the comment "you guys just don't listen!"  Needless to say, we immediately changed our name to "Team We Don't Listen". :-)

We had to hurry to make it by 11, when the tournament was scheduled to start…naturally it ended up starting 45 minutes late :-p  There were 2 other teams of 4 players each, Team Wisconsin and Team We Want Cards.  I played my Vidiian/Kazon solver/harvester/commandeer deck.

Game 1: vs Bob Pieron
Can't recall too much about this game…His Rogue Borg slow me down enough for him to get one mission, and I end up forfieting a few card plays to be able to move.  I belive I won 100-40 or so.  2 (+??)

Game 2: vs Matt Garrett
He was playing what seemed to be a straight Vidiian deck, with many, many STPs.  I kept boarding his ship and he kept pulling it back to hand.  Eventually he got 30 for Liberation + 10 for harvesting one of my people, while I got 20 for harvesting 2 of his people and 20 for stealing 2 of his equipment.  Time was called before my people aboard his ship could finish killing off his crew.  True tie 40-40.  3 (+??)

Side note: why does everyone I play against think an outpost is a planet facility?

Game 3: vs Mike Romeo
He's playing a Federation Medical deck….I can't seem to face many DQ opponents ;-p.  His Genetronic Replicator prevents his people from dying and he solves two planet missions for 62 points after losses to HtF and Oof!  I hit Dead End, then take a trip with Cytherians.  After that I quickly solve 3 missions for the win.  5 (+??)

Game 4: vs Joe Helfrich
Lately the two of us seem to play in every tournament we're both in.  I beat him twice in the YJ Open, twice in the JK warmup, twice in the JK open…he seems to be getting tired of me ;-)  Anyway, he's using a PNZ deck similar to the one Roger played at Friday's tournaments (no report on that one 'cause I forget what happened, but TNS won 8 (+400) and I got 3rd)  with 6 PNZs.  Anyway, he scores one PNZ, and gets some bonus points with my people after a H&S leaves me with 32 integrity for Alien Parasites, after which I clear out 3 missions for the win.  7 (+??)

This puts me in first in the overall standings; unfortunately Michael and Nathan only won 2 games each and with no 4th player we aren't able to take advantage of the bye.  We end up in 2nd with at 14 (+??)
