Olav's Tournament Report
by Olav "Pendari Champion" Rokne Well, I just ran my monthly tournament of Star Trek the Card Game. I've been having difficulties getting people to come out to my tournaments recently, and was a little disappointed to find that only three people had come out to the tournament. On the plus side, they were three people I hadn't seen at a tournament before. // Editor's note: of course, he means ST:CCG, not the Skybox thing ;-). I think. I had decided to play a Borg assimilate homeworld deck. It was a slow
fun deck-- I really hadn't intended to play unless it was to prevent a
bye. The four of us sat down to play a few games, a Mini-tournament,
if you will.
Round one Vs. Howling Mad Murdock Dwight Schultz, better known to the world as either howling Mad Murdock or as Reginald Barclay was playing a Vidiian speed deck. When asked why he wasn't playing VCM, He replied that he found the Vidiians a refreshing change. Dwight is actually a fascinating man, and our game was only half played as we spend much of the time discussing various conspiracy theories and the state of modern physics. I know that this sounds unbelievable, but Mr. Schultz is one of the most intelligent men I have had the pleasure to meet. He signed my ultra-rare Reginald Barclay. We timed out while I had a one objective lead. Cumulative Score 1 (+25)
Game two versus Dirk Benedict.
Cumulative score: 3 ( +80)
Round three: Olav Vs. Mr. T.
Cumulative score: 3 (+30) Overall a good time was had by all. I do hope that they will be back to my next tournament. I know that there are some major changes that I need to make to my deck before I bring it up to Edmonton for Allen's next tournament. Comments? Post on the New WNOHGB BBS! |
