April F(r)ool: A Card Review
by Michael Eddington
This month seems the perfect opportunity to look at this young fellow:
Frool
Ferengi Personnel, Universal, Common, Rules of Acquisition
Typical Ferengi waiter. Serves his employers as well as can be expected for a young, impatient, aspiring opportunist.
CIVILIAN
Greed Youth
Reports for free to Ferengi Trading Post.
INTEGRITY 4 CUNNING 5 STRENGTH 4
It's safe to say that if you have a Ferengi Deck with a Trading Post (which many do, considering its abilities with Latinum, Starry Night, and the Credit Exchange, among others), you can safely include a good number of this guy. So long as you're drawing cards (easy enough with cargo runs, 34th Rule, or any other method), you can plop down as many of this guy as you want at the Trading Post and still have your card play. It's not even limited to one per turn, unlike Tower Of Commerce and Quark's Bar - though he's free at those places too, being both a waiter and a CIVILIAN.
Granted, he's not much to write home about. 2 dull regular skills that overcome few dilemmas, dismal attributes, and no staffing abilities. Still, this guy's good for some things:

- Simple numbers: You'll never complain of being short of personnel with a pile of Frools on the table. They can pass dilemmas and missions requiring attribute multiples very easily. And they're eminently disposable; toss some with aplomb at your missions and let them find out what's there. If they discard some stuff, great; if not, send in more.
- Quark's Bar: As a waiter, he can report free here, too. And, if anyone starts a fight and takes one (or four) of these guys out - very easy with a
paltry 4 STRENGTH - they will pay the price, literally.
- Dabo: If your Frools are dying, you have cards in your discard pile to wager with. Better than dilemmas, which will tempt a Writ.
- Ooby Dooby: If your Frools are surviving the redshirt attempts, pile 'em up and have them draw you even more cards, on one quick dilemma pass.
- Colony: Once they pass that Ooby Dooby, they can get you points, too - 2 each per turn at a Colony.
So, there you have it. Quite a lot of fun from one little guy. Who said Ferengi are stingy - this guy's free!
