Celebrity Interview #1, part 1
by Nathaniel "Ens Red Shirt" White

Recently I got the chance to sit down and talk with one of the newest stars to the Star Trek Collectable Card Game Universe.  Let me tell you it was not easy, he is an extremely busy. um… entity.  In fact it took a great deal of time waiting in line to get to his agent, Peter, after which I was able to get an immediate audience with him.  In fact, Peter and his staff were very accommodating, letting me relax in a big fluffy chair and getting me a bagel with cream cheese.  Right after I finished the entity came in, and so with out further adieu, the transcript.

Entity: Nathaniel, so great to see you.
Nathaniel: Thank you for agreeing to meet with me, do you mind introducing your self for my readers?

E: Of Course, fellow ST:CCG gamers, I am God.
N: Thank you again for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with me.

God: Well, I am glad I finally got a good forum to talk about my addiction.
N: Addiction?

G: Yes, to ST:CCG, I have been playing for years on the net under assumed names.
N: Really? Do you make any tournaments?

G: Unfortunately, not anymore.  Decipher has placed a lifetime ban on me from playing in any sanctioned tournaments.
N: Why did they do that?

G: Well, they believe that since I am all knowing I know the cards in my opponent’s deck, which gives me an unfair advantage.  I can understand why Bojo placed the ban on me.  Because it did give me too much of an advantage.  So in the end I have left my tournament playing personas and moved to the world of online ST:CCG.
N: Mind telling me what your personas are and were?

G: Unfortunately, I do, since if I told no one would ever want to play me!  Though I will say I did get a chance to play at Deciphercon a few years ago and walked away with the world championship.
N: Well Congrats.  Now lets move on to why I came.  You are the featured character on a new ST:CCG Dilemma.

G: Well yes and no.
N: Excuse me?

G: Well the new card is not actually me, its my counter part from down under.
N: Ahh, I see.  Why then does it have your name on it?

G: Well it all began when Billy Shatner came and talked about me doing a part in this movie he was going to direct.  He said it was going to be Star Trek related, and I said right away I would love to do it.
N: Wow, that would have been wonderful.

G: Yea well unfortunately I did not check with Peter and had a full slate on the day of filming those scenes.  I told Billy and he understood, but was worried, since the script called for an omnipotent entity, so I put him in touch with my golf buddy, and the only other entity I can play ST:CCG with face to face, and he worked out the new ending with him and got everything set.  Needless to say the whole movie’s end took a dive but I was able to lighten up an earlier scene by getting a small cameo.  I was raider #2 when taking over Paradise City.
N: Wow, that is amazing.  I never knew that you and the Devil played golf together.

G: Yea, we play weekly, in fact we're good friends now, after that whole banishment thing.  We realize that for the Universe to work good and bad need to go together hand in hand.  But that is for another interview.
N: I see, so why does the card have your name on it?

G: Well, Evan knew about what happened with the change in the script and character and e-mailed both of us asking what he could do for the card.  So the devil and I talked, and since he already had a card I got my name on this new dilemma.  So I emailed Evan and gave him my okay to put my name on it, and the rest as they say is history.
N: Fascinating

Well that’s all the time I have now, but the interview continued on! So don’t miss part 2, Confessions of a ST:CCG playtester.  Then look out for Celebrity interview #2 with the other half of the coin, The Devil!

Till next time,
Nathaniel White
